Aberdour CastleJust across the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh lies the picturesque village of Aberdour, which nestles around Aberdour's two beaches and the natural harbour formed by the Dour Burn (burn - small stream), Aberdour actually means "River Mouth of the Dour". For such a small village Aberdour has much to offer, there are the two beaches, one a European Union "Blue Flag Award" winner, Aberdour castle, built in the 13th Century, Saint Fillans, the 12th century village church, hotels, bed and breakfasts, convenience stores, restaurants, gift stores and much more.

Easter Aberdour Closed?

Apparently Easter Aberdour will be closed between the 4th and 8th of February, according to signs on the Main road. So a week off for everyone? Or do we walk home from the station carpark?

"Christine Seydak from Aberdour and her group of musical friends have decided to record their version of the Proclaimers song 'Sunshine on Leith' in memory of their friend Sally Bremner, who passed away this year, aged just 49."

Donkey Brae Run

 The Donkey Brae Run is being held on Sunday The 29th July. There is the 7 mile run (17yrs +), the 2 mile junior race ( 9 years +) and the Family fun run (Open to all, under 9's must be supervised by a responsible adult). Late entry is possible on the day between 10.00-11.30am at Aberdour primary School with an additional later entry charge for the 7 mile race of £2. More details can be found on the festival website .
 
Aberdour seafood ban after oil spill

A Ban has been imposed on the consumption of seafood gathered on beaches around Aberdour and Burntisland following an oil spill in the Forth.
